I decided to play along with So Scrappy’s Rainbow Scrap Challenge this year. I don’t have a lot of scraps. I do the unthinkable for many quilters. I throw away my scraps.
But, when I got to looking around I found that I did have some scraps after all. Most of these were purposely made 2.5 inch strips that I cut when I just had a little bit left of a fabric.
Here are the blues and a stack of partially done basket blocks that I decided I didn’t like part of the way through making them.
I started randomly sewing together strips of different lengths to turn them into this.
There are going to be 10 of them. Nine for a wall hanging and 1 for a label.
That’s great! I love baskets and these are so cute. I wondered if the handles were already done, too, because it doesn’t look like it in the top picture. This is going to be such a cute wall hanging. I like the fact that you took something you didn’t care for and turned it into something so cute.

Wow!! Amazing block and it will be a wonderful wall hanging. Cannot wait to see the finished project.
Those blue corners really make your basket blocks pop. I’m so glad you were able to find some scraps after all. What a cute quilt it will be.

Those are wonderful – you are going to be so pleased when you see them altogether, I’m sure!
I love using strings as setting squares. They really make your blue baskets POP! This is going to be a wonderful quilt.
