I got a notice that I’m running out of space here. I’m at 86.4% of capacity. Instead of eventually having to get more space I decided to print out my archives and then delete them here. The only people really looking at the archives are spammers anyway.
I decided to use Blog Printing to make a book. It was really easy. Other companies make you add code (that I obviously couldn’t figure out how to do correctly). This one just ask for the dates you wanted to print. It cost me $18.34 to do all of 2005. They also give you an option of selling your blog to other people. I can’t see that people would want to buy blogs but if your blog is more interesting than mine you might be interested.
I’m not going to delete everything. I think just 2005 for now if I like the way the book turns out. That will leave almost a whole year up. And it will give me more room for more pictures.
I think it is a good idea to print your blog – have something hardcopy to show for for all your work documenting your life, and something to remember how things were in your life. Sometimes it is easy to forget how “normal” used to be different. Plus, as technology changes, or if the computer crashes at the network, you could lose posts, as I did on freeopendiary.
You’d be surprised how many lurkers you have!!!! I love your blog and though I understand you may need to delete, keep at it. 🙂
Have you considered moving your service? Just wondering. Also, typepad suggests something called Coral Distributed Network (www.coralcdn.org), which offers shared hosting. I just thought I’d let know about that since I’m scheduled to exceep my bandwidth this month and am looking into ways to free up some space. If you do print the book, let us know how it goes.
And I second the 101 things.
Please don’t delete your 101 Things.
I made a list, too, and I enjoy seeing when you get something crossed off — it motivates me 🙂
