What bookish jobs would I do for free?
There is a job that I’ve always wanted. I don’t want to hear any nonsense about how that’s not how this job really works. This is my dream job I’m inventing so I can make it like I want it.
I want to be the person in a large public library who takes the hold requests and goes and gets the books off the shelves.
That’s it. I don’t want to be a librarian. I absolutely don’t want to help the public. I want to put my earbuds in, listen to an audiobook, grab a list from the front desk, and go around filling up my cart with books from the stacks. I’d get all my steps in plus some. I’d listen to my books. I’d discover a whole lot of interesting books.
In a related job, I’d also be willing to be the person who drives the requested books to the branch libraries. I’d wheel in a bin of books for that location and take the bin they have to go elsewhere. I’d distribute their books amongst the bins I have in the van to get them to the branch they need to go to. It is very organized and tidy. Then I’d drive off into the sunset, delivering books.
Your dream job sounds perfect.
That would be a perfect job! ?
Sounds to me like there’s room for some inventing here to create a new role! 😀

That does sound like a fun job! I would do that for free, too. And I never really thought about how the books in my large suburb get transferred from one library branch to another, but book driver sounds like an enjoyable gig too.
Happy TTT!
