I went to see Brokeback Mountain today. It finally came to my part of the world. I see going to movies as sort of like voting. If there is a movie that I want to see do well either because of the director, actors, or subject matter I try to go on opening weekend even if I think I might not like the movie. I told my parents that I was going to do my part for Ang Lee and the ‘homosexual agenda’ in the MidWest.
But I liked this movie. I was surprised by that. I hate westerns. I don’t like movies with sex in them. And if nothing is going to happen in a movie then it best be in Chinese so I can feel cultured by going to a foreign film.
Despite all that, I highly recommend it.
This one is on my list to see, but I *still* haven’t gotten to see Boys Don’t Cry, Monster, Whale Rider or Finding Neverland yet, so I’m sure it’ll be a while…
