The other day I was talking about watching curling on TV and deciding that I want to be a curler when I grow up. I said that I didn’t think I could do that without moving north.
Yesterday I was watching curling again and declaring my intention to be a curler. I decided to look up US curling groups. I was shocked, SHOCKED, to learn that there are not one but two curling groups within an hour drive of here. Huh. I think my desire to be a curler was based mostly on the unattainability of the goal. What do I do now when it is not only possible but actually sort of easy? I may go to a ‘learn to curl’ clinic just to say that I’ve done it. I’m not sure it will be my life’s passion but it will be cool to try.
I didn’t realize what curling was, until I was talking to a friend last night. I saw a match awhile back and was fascinated. Looks like it might be hard on the back, though.
