I read 17 books in December.
I was still off work in the beginning of the month and reading a bunch. Those books feel like I read them ages ago!
After I went back to work, I found myself wanting to reread. The M.C.A. Hogarth books are rereads for me. The Kelley Armstrong books are audiobooks I’ve relistened to with the husband.
I thought I was in a slump but it turns out that I didn’t realize how much of a monster book The Lady Brewer of London was. It is over 800 pages. No wonder it took a while to read!
There were:
- 6 rereads
- 3 audiobooks
- 2 nonfiction
I did read one book set South of the Equator, in Ecuador..
The narrator of this audiobook, Christine Ann-Roche, had a great voice. It was very soothing but it was slow enough that I had to speed up the book which is something that I almost never do.
This is an important book that I’d highly recommend.
I’ve seen The Lazy Genius Way at the library and almost picked it up.And I still want to read The Teller of Small Fortunes. Great reading month!
Sounds like We Will Be Jaguars really affected you! I always listen at at least 1.5 speed, so this one would probably end up at 2x or higher. (Sorry if this ends up being a duplicate comment – something went wrong the first time.)

I enjoyed Isabel and the Rogue earlier this year. I need to decide if I am still going back to read the first book in the series, or if I’ll just move on from that. Wishing you a good January!
