I’ve officially decided to not put the borders on Orca Bay. I’m giving it to my long arm quilting friend and then I’m going to bind it in strip pieced pinks. I think that will finish it more to my liking.
I’m one week behind on my New York Beauty sew along. These are what I have so far. I’m making them in colors from sunflowers.
I’m in a fabric swap. I’ve missed those. I used to do a lot of them but then they seemed to disappear for a while. This one assigned us a color and then we had to get a novelty print. We’re sending out 10″ squares of each. I love these skulls and surfboards.
I have another hand applique block ready to go.
I was involved with starting up a chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild in my area. Our first meeting was this week. We were hoping for 5 people. We got 20! One person came from a neighboring state even. We got our programs for the summer figured out and it sounds like it is going to be fun.
Your orca is great – I like the idea of binding it in pink – beautiful!
Fun projects. I agree that your quilt will look good without borders. I do not always add them either and let the design shine 🙂
Great job on the Orca! I’m still undecided about my borders. Love the NYB blocks!
You are very busy! Your Orca bay is great just as it is -and it will be done! Always a good thing.
love the colors in your New York Beauties.
