Dragon Quilt

I don’t post about it much anymore but I do still make quilts. Sometimes. Mostly when I’m on a deadline.

Baby quilts are the most common deadline for me. I made this sleeping dragon quilt from Apples & Beavers for a former coworker.

The royal blue body was from my stash, as were all the dragon fabrics. It is metallic. The light blue background has become my favorite background for image quilts. I auditioned a lot of fabrics for the binding but finally liked this multicolored blue.

I quilted straight lines in the background and pebbles in the blue. The orange triangles have triangles quilted into them. The wings have freeform wavy lines.

This was a fun pattern that went together easily. I would try other patterns from this company in the future.
