Thursday
Since I couldn’t go to the official Whole Life Challenge end workout on Saturday I knew I was supposed to do it today. I wasn’t looking forward to it at all. Then I walked into the gym and saw this:
50 Double unders
60′ Suicide sprint (every 20′)
30 Handstand push ups (60 pikes)
50 Abmat Sit Ups
60′ Suicide sprint (every 20′)
30 Push Press 95/65#
50 Toes to bar
60′ Suicide sprint (every 20′)
30 Wall Balls 20/14#
50 Sit Ups
60′ Suicide sprint (every 20′)
50 Double Unders
Suddenly I was raising my hand and begging to do the other workout! It was 9 minutes of:
I thought I was going to do better than the first time I did this two months ago. I’m 14 lbs lighter. When I started the workout I felt like I was moving faster and better than I remembered. Last time the run after the first time was like zombies staggering. It felt better than that today. I never felt like I couldn’t go on. I was breathing like an asthmatic water buffalo but I felt ok. The first time I got 6 full rounds, 7 extra kettle bell swings, and 1 burpee. This time I got 6 full rounds, 7 kettle bell swings, and 7 burpees. I was hoping to get at least 7 full rounds so that disappointed me. But there were some differences between the conditions in each workout. Last time I did it at 10:30 on a Sunday. I’m better later than at 6:30 AM when I did this one. The coach timing me today made me jump in the air after each burpee. We were timing each other last time and there was no jumping. And, I swear the 50 yard run was longer. We moved locations and so they were run at different places. I don’t think they got the tape measure out. I think they were paced off by different people. So, considering all that I guess I’m happy with my performance.
After I went back inside (oh yeah, I did the workout outside in the dark in November in northern Ohio – COLD!), they had me do half the reps for the other workout. It wasn’t as bad as it seemed even though my triceps were killing me from 49 burpees. I did it in 18 minutes.
Sunday
3 rounds of:
I did it in 11:47.
Tuesday
Today’s workout was as many rounds as possible in 21 minutes of:
I did 5 rounds plus the knees to chest and 1 burpee.
I found out that officially on the whole life challenge I lost 6.75 inches in 2 months. It feels like more than that! But, I’ll take everything I get.
Sounds like some great results from the challenge even if the beginning and ending workouts weren’t quite equivalent enough to allow for a perfect comparison.
