Way back when I was on Twitter I followed Bravermountain kennels and their 2 Iditarod runs. When I left Twitter I didn’t keep up with them. I don’t pay much attention to my Bluesky but I happened to check in right as this year’s race was starting and saw that they were running again. I was pulled right back in.
#uglydogs is their fan hashtag. I was surprised by how much of the group lore I remembered. They also raise a lot of money for groups along the trail like schools and veterinary care and LGBT charities as the group #igivearod. There was over $100,000 raised this year during the race.
One of the #uglydogs recommended a book a day. This one stood out to me. I was a veterinary judge for equine events but never in these extreme conditions. I wanted to see how doing canine events compared to the horse events.
This is my new audiobook. I picked it from what was available at the library. It looks at 5 families who were torn apart by QAnon. It is interesting so far.
Interesting books. I hope you enjoy them. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
The Quiet Damage sounds really fascinating!
The Iditarod has always fascinated me, but I haven’t followed it much. I may need to change that. The Quiet Damage sounds fascinating. I think it needs to go on my TBR list.
Both of these books sound interesting.
Wishing you a great reading week
