Returned to the library – DNF. The writing in this was very stiff and stilted. It wasn’t flowing smoothly. Not an enjoyable read.

Listened for a while and then DNFed at halfway through – I can’t stand books about animal behavior that feel the need to justify the fact scientifically that animals think and have feelings. The author is a neuroscientist who had worked with dogs and then got cows. He seemingly alternated between doting on his miniature cows and being surprised they weren’t automatons. Maybe this book would be interesting if you had never met a cow (or possibly any animal) before and didn’t know that they thought or had inner lives or personalities. I got tired of yelling, “Well, obviously!” at the phone.

Started listening to because I found this in my Audible library when I was going for a walk immediately after getting annoyed enough to DNF the last audiobook.

Got from Kindle Unlimited because T.J. Deschamps recommended it in her newsletter – I don’t even know what it is about.:
