Â
The books I read were:
- 5 nonfiction
- Â 2 audiobooks
- Set in the U.S., England, and in space
The authors were:
- 6 white women, 3 African-American women, 1 Afro-Latina woman, 1 Korean-American man, and 1 white man
Which ones would I totally NOT recommend?
Usually I say which ones I would totally recommend but everything was pretty good this month. You really won’t go wrong with any of them with the exception of From the Corner of the Oval which has way too little political stuff and way too much drunkeness, poor life choices, and toxic relationships. Â
I’m participating in #Blackathon in February. It has been expanded to all month. Â I’ve already read the group book, The Poet X, which was amazing.
Reading All Around the World challenge from Howling Frog Books
- Read a nonfiction book about the country – or
- Read fiction written by a native of the country or someone living for a long time in the country.
I got nothing.
I got Becoming from Audible and plan on listening to it very soon. And I also recently put Binti on my Hoopla favorites list so I’ll remember to get to it soon as well. I’ve heard great things about both of them!
The Poet X is a book I will buy to keep as it sounds powerful. I’m planning on listening to the audio book by Michelle Obama as she is my hero and so real.
Binti sounds good !
I want to read Buttermilk Graffitti, Hero Dogs and Becoming, they look great!
Great list of books. I want to read Michelle’s and some of those others look pretty darn good too.

Great month! I so wanna read Becoming!! Happy February!
A few of the books you read are on my TBR list, so I’m glad you liked them. Have a great February!
That’s not so bad that only one book was a disappointment. See what I read at Girl Who Reads
How was How Long Til Black Future Month? Have that one high on my list. Have also just added Poet X to my scirbd audio tbr. Looks like quite a good month of reading!
How Long Til Black Future Month was amazing.
