I usually don’t review romance series. I find them hard to talk about. Once you get into the series there are going to be spoilers if the stories are at all interconnected. So I thought I would give an overview of two historical series I recently read.
Clairvoir Castle Romances by Sally Britton

First of all, I just love these watercolor covers. Very different and eye catching.
The story starts with a novella, A Duchess for the Duke. A man has inherited his title at a fairly young age. He feels very unprepared for the role. He didn’t expect his father to die for a long time. His mother pushes him to get married to settle his place in society. He makes a match with a woman who he feels is smart enough to help him run the estates. It is a marriage of convenience that turns into a romantic relationship.
The series then skips ahead to their children and family acquaintances. These books to need to be read in order because there is a continual story line. New characters are brought in and then are seen in subsequent stories.
Castles and Courtship
This is a different type of series. Each book is written by a different author. The story point that holds them together is castles. In each story there is a castle at the center of the drama.

- One book is about gardeners working on a castle’s grounds on a tidal island.
- Another has a woman who has been living in her family’s run down castle for years as an orphan and now she is going to be forced to leave.
- One woman runs to a friend’s castle to get away from relatives who are going to force an unwanted marriage on her.
- A house party at a castle as a companion to her elderly aunt seems better than another London season for one spinster.
- Another woman arrives in Scotland for her arranged marriage to a laird.
- A visitor to a castle in Wales helps solve a mystery about a recent death.
These ones can be read in any order.
Both of these series are romances with no on page sexual scenes. They are just nice stories set in fun locations.
