This wrap up post is coming out late for the simple reason that I completely forgot what day it was.
I read 12 books this month. It feels like more because I was listening to a few long audiobooks that got snatched back up by the library fairies before I was done. So I’m 3/4 of the way through two other books that I hope to get back and finish soon.
Looking at that gallery of covers I’m struck by what a weird combination of books it is. Everything from middle grade contemporary to true crime nonfiction to political nonfiction to romance to fantasy. I was all over the place.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate The Obituary Society’s cover? That is gorgeous. Snug in Iceland is pretty cool too.
I added Iceland to my list of countries that I read about this year.
Beneath a Ruthless Sun was a good one, I read it a few years back. I’m curious about Peril, just a bit burned out on the Trump White House books at the moment.
My dad just finished Peril and said it wasn’t quite what he expected.
I though it was a little weird too. I can’t quite figure out why. A bit disjointed maybe because it was jumping around a lot. Very simplistic language like it was written for people with a low reading level.
I really want to read A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow. I hope you have a good October!
