Guys, I did a thing.
I’ve been thinking for a while about how I’d like to do something different here than formal book reviews. I have more fun writing discussion posts and recommendations and lists. People like to read those more too. But I still want to talk about the books I’m reading. I’ve played around with the idea of doing a daily reading vlog but I don’t like TikTok or Instagram. I don’t have time to be editing videos after work. I hate looking at myself on camera.
I just decided to do it anyway and upload whatever I’m thinking about concerning what I’m reading to YouTube. Unedited and un-fancified. I have a page because I have an account. I’ve uploaded a few videos there before just when I wanted a place to host larger travel videos to embed on the blog. Turns out that actually have followers. There are 5 of them! Aren’t they going to be surprised when I actually start posting things?
I figure I’ll embed what I’ve been posting here on the weekends for anyone who is interested. I’m not abandoning this space. But sometimes I just want to ramble. We’ll see if I like it enough to keep doing it.
Just like you, I’ve considered doing more videos, but it does seem like it takes a lot of work to get them “polished”. I applaud you for jumping in and just doing what works well for you! I’m off to go watch them…
Good for you for diving into something new! I have all the same thoughts as you about so many things. I’ve toyed with the idea of videos in Instagram stories. They disappear so if they aren’t great they are gone in 24 hours. I hope you your following grows!
