I never, ever, ever read free preview chapters.
I don’t want to start a book that I can continue reading if the whole book isn’t available yet. It is just a tease.
As far as downloading random free ebooks go, I used to do it a whole lot more than I do now. I used BookBub to find books that looked interesting. It turns out that I never really read those books. They just built up in my Kindle app. I’ve pretty much quit looking at that site.
Now I get most of my ebooks from Kindle Unlimited or the library.
