We’ve been sickly around here this week. Nothing major – just an annoying cold. The husband is still painting in the rental house. They’ve also moved onto replacing most of the flooring.
On Wednesday we went to see Come From Away. I’ve seen it before but the husband and my coworker who went with us hadn’t. It is about the planes that got diverted to Gander Newfoundland on 9/11/2001. The three of us all had very different memories of that day. The husband was working in telecommunications and working on disaster response. He knew people who died and his wife at the time lost a lot of coworkers because her company had a branch office there. My coworker was in second grade. I missed the whole thing because it was my day off and I had the news off until it was all over. I didn’t know anyone affected.
On Saturday I did my 10K walk for the end of this round of BodySlims. It was our first really warm day and I kept getting distracted by turtles and birds. I like doing that event.
Last week on the blog:
I’ve heard Come From Away was an amazing show! I hope to see it sometime. Thanks for sharing!
I hope you all are better soon. We’ve also had sickness in our house this week, seems to be the season. Have a great week!
I recently read The Day the World Came to Town. What a wonderful book that was! I’d encourage everyone to read it. I wonder if the movie was made from that book. I hope everyone is feeling better soon.
Hi! First time here I believe but liked the title of your blog so came on over to make a comment. 🙂 Hope you are getting over that cold. I had the flu a few weeks back and it was horrid.
Have a great week!

I hope you feel better soon.
I also often get distracted by turtles and birds. 🙂
9/11. I was at work and my boss and I just literally stood there together, arms locked in fear watching what was happening. I called my brother and mom immediately. It was terrifying and so terribly tragic and sad.
It sounds like you had a good week. Other than the cold thing. I remember that I was driving to work when I heard about 9/11. I had to rearrange everyone’s travel calendar as well as reschedule clients who did not want to travel. I remember being scared about what the attack meant for the US.
