I’m guess I’m officially on vacation but I am a jangling ball of nerves.

I love traveling but traveling with the husband is nerve-wracking. He has severe food allergies so eating in airports and on planes is very scary. I’m a planner for all this stuff. I have stacks of emergency meds and food stores on me. He just la-la-las through the trip and gets upset when there isn’t anything he can eat suddenly because the world doesn’t accommodate people with defective immune systems so you have to plan for these things like I’ve been saying……

I still haven’t fully recovered from the time he put a cookie in his mouth over the middle of the Atlantic Ocean without reading the label first. He’s lucky he didn’t die from either an allergic reaction or me drop kicking him off that plane.

Then this week I got a fraud alert on my high limit credit card (that I once had to use to get us out of a country where he was having lots of reactions at a resort and they didn’t have better medical care than I had on me) and they canceled the card. I might have made a slightly unhinged phone call to the card company about how I really need that card NOW. They express shipped it. I got it yesterday. Then my dear husband looked at it and said, “Why did they send two in my name and not one in yours?” Turns out the man momentarily lost the ability to read but not the ability to spike my blood pressure.

I also have done something to my foot that is making it hard to walk on it. I swear by the time I get on my cruise ship I’m going to need a vacation from my vacation.

But on the plus side, my hand is healing pretty well from my cat bite and I GOT CLEARED FOR SNORKELING at my extra post-op visit!

Now I’m charging all the electronics and making up all the pet food and instructions. I haven’t even started to pack for myself.

It is going to be cold and snowy here the whole time I’m gone. I feel slightly bad about trying on shorts and looking up the weather in Panama but not that bad!
