After a week of vacation I was itching to get back to sewing.
I started with a swap block. The directions called for bright pinwheels or stars.
Here’s the group so far:
I’ve also always wanted to make a Granny Square quilt but it keeps getting pushed aside. I joined another swap group and I’m going to have the group make it for me. It is going to be in aqua and red.
I found this panel in my stash. I don’t remember buying it so it must be one of those fabrics that spontaneously emerge from under other fabrics. I decided to throw it together quickly since it is almost Halloween. I pillowcased it and then just threw a few quilting lines in. That never works well for me. I never get the tension right and I get all kinds of puckers. I hung this up and was horrified by how bad it looked. Then I stepped back a few feet and most all the icky stuff was invisible. Must be Halloween magic – just don’t look too close!
Your stars are so bright and colourful, and the red and aqua grannys will be beautiful!
HAhaha that blah blah blah fabric cracks me up! I didn’t know it came in aqua. I might have to find some. 🙂 Those bright stars/pinwheels are gorgeous together, too!
I love your color choices for both of your blocks! So bright and cheery.
