My sewing this week has been all Quilts of Valor sampler. I have put a few rows together of my Spaghetti Junction quilt and I ordered a border fabric. The fabric ended up being way too pink instead of red. It turns out that I have the perfect border color in my stash but the dots are too small for this quilt. I also have the perfect dot size but it is navy blue. I need to go online again and find the perfect offspring of those two fabrics.
The sampler is coming along nicely. Here’s what I’ve posted in the last week.
Here’s today’s block.
I’ll let you in on a little secret. I’m going out of town for a week. I knew this when I signed up to do February block of the day. I figured that was ok. I’d just make 2 blocks a day at some point to get ahead. “At some point” has come and gone. I am a bit ahead – but not enough. I leave Saturday. If suddenly I’m bragging on how I’m hand sewing these blocks it means that I didn’t get enough done before I left.
I hope you get them done, that would be a lot of hand sewing.
Hi Heather, thank you for the nice comment on my blog. I think it will be a great way to finish the edges too. I love all your blocks, so nice together!
Gorgeous blocks. I have really been drawn to samplers of late.
